SP Turns 1! A Few Great Reads And Posts Over The Year!
Can you believe it’s been a year since we’ve began this journey? It’s gone by so fast and we have learned so much from each other! Blogging is a great way to share information with our mama community based on our individual and collective experiences. From stay-at-home moms, to working moms, to many other stories along the way, we try to bring you a collection of voices that sing motherhood in many tunes. We hope you stick around because our voices are growing, and the best is yet to come!
Here is a look back at our first year:
Sassy Meg hit the ground running with an endearing blog/tribute to a dear friend whose son has autism. We learned how to talk about it and what to say to our own children so that they can appreciate differences and practice inclusion.
Adrienne shared a witty, but serious guide to helping a new mom’s milk come in! Aside from being straight to the point, she lists some excellent tips new moms may not even know about. Some of these may actually surprise you!
Then I, Sassy K, broached a topic I was passionate about, dismantling the negative narrative of black fathers. We always talk about moms, but dads play a critical role in a child’s life as well. It just so happened that many people were also passionate about this subject.
Kim Sassy gave us all the hacks for braiding thick hair and made us all feel like experts! Who knew braiding could be less stressful when you follow a few simple tips?
Adrienne explained how we could actually bring Montessori into our own homes. You may not even know that you are already doing some of these things! How cool is that?!
Kim Sassy did a head-dive into Black History Month and gave us some awesome ways to celebrate African Heritage with our children. And actually, these activities can be done all year round so this blog does not expire!
Guest contributor Tiese Williams let us into her world about her foster-care journey. This one was a tear-jerker! She had all of us wanting to open our own homes after reading her beautiful story!
Alexandria came on the scene as a contributor and made a refreshing and dramatic entrance! She fit right on into the sassy clan and blew us away with her feisty breastfeeding blog!
Then Sassy Meg had us all collapsing in laughter with her epic summer fail! Complete with the cutest and most hilarious pics to go along! 🤣🤣
Lastly, I rounded out the summer with this beautiful tribute to men. This post gave a whole new meaning to the word “crickets!” You have no idea how many messages we received that something was wrong with our article loads! That was a great chuckle 😂. All jokes!! But did you at least smile? 😆
We have so many other posts that we shared over the year, 200 in total. We hope you take the time to look through our archives and get to know us more! The best is yet to come. We are just getting started! Follow us on Instagram!
CONGRATULATIONS on your anniversary! You young ladies are AMAZING! I wish Sassy Plum had been around when I was a young Mom! Keep up the great work!!
Congratulations!!!
